JHSC Certification ensures compliance with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) standards. A functional Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) is crucial for maintaining a safe workplace environment, helping to implement safety processes, procedures, and standards to protect workers from harm.

JHSC Certification Refresher
Duration: 1 day
Description:
Certified JHSC members must undergo Refresher Training every three years to maintain their certification. This course, compliant with MLITSD standards, covers recent legislative updates, best practices, and common Committee challenges. Failure to complete this training can result in the revocation of certification by Ontario’s Chief Prevention Officer.
Importance of JHSC Certification
In Ontario, workplaces with 20 or more workers must have a JHSC, consisting of at least one worker and one management member. The JHSC identifies and addresses workplace health and safety issues, helping employers and workers collaborate to manage hazards and maintain optimal safety performance. A functioning JHSC is essential in advising management on health and safety policies, ensuring that safety remains a priority to protect employees at all times.
